ATTORNEY Edward P. Wilkinson
Edward is a fourth generation South Texan, born and raised in Victoria, Texas. Edward left Victoria in 1995 to attend college and returned in 2008 early in his legal career. Edward now lives in Victoria with his wife and two children and has many extended family members in the area. Edward has strong ties to the South Texas community he serves which enables him to relate to South Texas juries and judges as an advocate for his clients.
Edward is former prosecutor and is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has the experience and tenacity to get results for you. Edward began his legal career with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston, Texas. From 2005 through 2008, he worked his way through the Harris County office starting as an intern in a White Collar Crime Division and working his way up as a Juvenile Prosecutor, a Misdemeanor Prosecutor, and finishing as a Felony Prosecutor in the Trial Bureau.
In 2008, Edward and his family relocated to Victoria, Texas where he began working for the Victoria County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. Again Edward worked his way through the office as a Misdemeanor and Juvenile Prosecutor but spent the majority of his five years with the office prosecuting serious felony offenses. Edward ended his time with the Victoria County Criminal District Attorneys Office in early 2015 as Felony Section Chief responsible for supervising and training other prosecutors.
In early 2015, Edward opened his private practice focusing on providing criminal defense in the Coastal Bend area. Since then Edward has represented hundreds of individuals accused of crimes in state and federal courts in South Texas obtaining numerous dismissals and jury acquittals.
There are over 100,000 attorneys in the State of Texas, less than 7.5% of Texas attorneys are Board Certified in any area of law. Less than 1% are Board Certified in Criminal Law. Edward is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Choosing an attorney with Board Certification is important because it means that attorney has earned the right to this designation through a commitment to excellence in a particular area of law. Only Board Certified attorneys are allowed to represent themselves as specialist in a particular area of law. Edward has earned the right to say he is a specialist in criminal law.

Edward knows most of his clients would like to avoid a trial altogether and has extensive experience helping his clients with the investigative stage of their case or by negotiating a favorable outcome to their case through plea bargain or dismissal.
